Because life happens.

I'm currently sitting upstairs in our bedroom, on the floor, next to the space heater. Our heat went out again (for the second time since we've moved in - 5 months ago). I can hear Colby moving fast up the stairs, obviously with a purpose. He comes racing into our room carrying our tiny fish tank which is home to our beta Tomahawk and our african dwarf frog andy. He knew that if they went with out heat for too long that they'd both perish and since they are still alive after 3 years, we might as well help the cause.
It's getting quite cozy in our (used to be) decent size master bedroom. The Mr has insisted that along with the space heater, we'll need extra blankets, chairs for the movie - watched on the laptop, treats, movies, books, and a few other items that are slowly creeping in. As I complain about owning a home for the the tenth times since I saw the temp. on the thermostat, Colb pipes in with a
"if this is the worst things that happens to us, we can handle it. "
Just when I think life is getting the better of me, I realize that even in the cold, I've got it all.

  1. Oh man that's rough. But you'll remember this for a long time and be able to tell your kids about the winter you didn't have heat and had to hang out in your bedroom and I'm sure it will become one of your favorite times in your new house...when your heater gets fixed. Good Luck!
