We were lucky enough to have a Dr's visit right before our Thanksgiving trip to Colorado with my family. Dr Hall was so kind and was excited to show us how modest our little dude isn't. I was determined to keep that secret until my family was all together.
I have to admit, I'm sort of proud of myself.
As our due date of May 5th (cinco de mayo) kept coming to my mind, a pinada was purchased and filled to the brim with blue and green candy. I was hopeful that it would be a good addition to the birthdays we were celebrating while all together.
I'm happy to report that I lasted until the day of the party!
(Let's not talk about how it was only 12 hours into the trip) Not bad for lasting 5 whole days before that.
The husbands had gone golfing, Mom was busy playing with the grandkids, and the siblings were enjoying breakfast in the kitchen. Of course it was the topic over our meal and I had caught myself a handful of times and managed to stop it from coming out. Then the conversation took a turn...
"WAIT! Your Dad already knows? Your in-laws know? YOUR BOSS KNOWS?"
"I don't see my Dad much and I did want him to hear it from me, I spend 8 hours a day with my Boss- that's more than I see Colby, and the day we found out, I saw Colby's entire family except for his Mom and I wanted to just scream IT'S A BOY! but I waited until his Mom was there."
"WAIT? It's a BOY!?!"
"SH*T"
Turns out, I'm not so great at secrets.
My favorite part was when my Mom came running into the kitchen to find out what all the commotion was about and in their effort to reenact the scene, my little brother stopped himself just short of the BOY part of the story and my big sister, well, didn't.
We spent the rest of the morning looking up boy names and laughing at my lack of control.
Colby and I are ecstatic to meet our little babe in the spring!
YAY! Congrats! Boys are so much fun! You look so cute! Miss you!
