A few months ago Colby and I discovered the Costa Vida just a few miles from our house. It's probably just as close as Cafe Rio if we decided to head the other direction but there is more parking and it's a lot easier to get in and out of. Oh, and it tastes the same to us.
We've pretty much mastered our order with the occasional 'taco instead of burrito' but other than that, we've got it down.
When we first started our eating out adventures we would spend all the money possible within the walls.
"extra sour cream, dessert, oh and a soda."
I can tell we're trying to save by the way we ordered tonight.
"2 pork tacos, chips and queso, and 2 water cups."
Sure, we could save more money by not eating out but we don't have our own kitchen and we don't get to see each other much during the week so it's nice to surround ourselves with people we don't know so we can chat it up without distraction. Did I just justify our eating out? I might have.
The water cup is something I despised for quite sometime, I always liked getting soda because it meant I was being 'treated'. Funny how a soda can make you feel so good about yourself and then turn around and hit you in the booty.
I've since gotten over the water cup, and I now prefer it. Weird.
Something that will never get old though, is the water on the soda machine is hooked to the pink lemonade. it's almost as though Costa Vida is testing and tempting me all in the same fill up.
The first time I filled Colby's cup a few months ago, he took it back and dumped it out, I hadn't let the pink color run out of the water and if you didn't know it, you'de think he was drinking pink lemonade. He can be a little bit of a dare devil sometimes but not when it comes to stealing - lucky for me, I'd rather not have a clepto for a husband.
We had a pretty good chat about avoiding the appearance of evil and what that might include. You can bet I let the water run real clear before I fill our cups each time now.
Lesson learned.
I know exactly what you mean! Ever since they built the Costa Vida in Clinton Me and Andy have gone there a ton, Its way to close for our wallets comfort! But hey at least we enjoy it right! And I think you totally justified it!
