This last summer we had a chance to attend a family reunion with Colby's Mom side of the family. Heber Valley Girls camp is where it was held and it was nothing shy of great. The only complaint I heard the entire trip was that it was far too short.
At the end of our two days, there was discussion about who was in charge for summer 2012. Discussion turned into a little bit of an argument. In the heat of the moment I stepped in, raised my hand, and volunteered. Jaws dropped, sighs of relief and surprise escaped, and then all parties involved decided it probably wasn't too bad of an idea.
Slowly it turned from 'Libby's in charge' to 'married couples in charge' to 'grandkids over 20 in charge' until a few weeks ago. I reassured everyone that Libby is in charge.
Now, one of two things can happen;
a: it turns out amazing and everyone will want me to be in charge every year but I won't have to because i'll have already taken my turn.
b: it totally sucks and i'll never be in charge again.
Either way, i'm done after this assignment.
I've contemplated a lot of ideas but the family is quite large and therefore our choices our limited. The last few weeks I've kept a prayer in my heart regarding location alone, hoping that all would fall into play once that's taken care of.
We had the chance to get ice cream with some friends tonight and lone behold, family reunions come up. I'm telling you their experience from last summer answered my prayers. And they just thought we were there for the company. HA! :)
It wasn't until today that I was really, honestly, and whole-heartedly ready for this experience. I can't wait to plan the details and let it play out.
Thanks B family for being an answer to my prayers!
Your brave! You rock, Libby!
