We finally made it home late Saturday night around 11. I knew when I accepted the calling of teaching Sunday school that the adversary would work extra hard on keeping me busy and away from planning my lessons but this weekend, he won. I didn't have the energy to open my manual let alone my scriptures and a notebook. I caved and hit the hay. Colb and I missed our alarm on Sunday morning (which has NEVER happened) and we missed Sacrament. I jumped in the shower at 20 after 9 and did my hair as fast as I could. I came booking it down the stairs in a panic only to find my husband on the couch with my scriptures and my manual open.
"I've been preparing your lesson for you."
My eyes filled with tears as my heart skipped a beat. He knew without any discussion, that I was nervous and worried about what I was going to teach my kids.
It gets better.
Eventually Colby just offered to teach my lesson, he had figured out a way to teach it differently, in a way my kids would better understand and I was just as anxious to hear it as he was to teach it.
Seriously.
He came to my class, set up all the chairs, let me take charge, and then I turned the lesson over to him.
He rocked it.
My kids we captivated and I was in heaven.
After 'my' lesson, Colby went on to priesthood to teach his own lesson to the deacons. Turns out, he didn't really have to teach, someone else had the lesson and didn't tell him. Never the less, he was prepared for church, with two lessons.
Today,
True love is preparing your spouses lesson for church because you know it's exactly what they need.
All I have to say is... AWE!!!
