Oh You ...

Colb has been done with work for a few weeks now, he's feeling very inadequate and guilty that I'm supporting us, I on the other hand, don't mind one bit. I've been able to spend some serious quality time with Colby and I'm loving it. I often joke that because I make the money, I decide how it's spent. He'd love to see how that would turn out but he knows I don't need anything new and that anything I want isn't a must. I'll admit, it would be interesting to watch but it probably wouldn't turn out well.
Last week I told him if he'd take out the trash, I'd pay him 75 cents, his eyes lit up and he booked it to the garbage can. He then raced back down the stairs with his hand out, ready for "cash only, no checks or cards" I busted up laughing.
Later I had just painted my nails and they were still wet but we needed to leave and I wasn't dressed yet. I offered 4 dollars if he would get me dressed. It was the funniest thing ever. I was very picky about how to put my shoes, belt, and necklace on. When we were all done He took a deep breath and sighed with relief, I then told him my nails weren't really wet but I'd pay big money to see him do that again. He laughed.
He's going back to school next week and hopefully work soon as well. I'm a little bummed but I've thoroughly enjoyed his time off and I have full confidence that he will miss me once he's gone.

  1. I LOVE IT LIBBY!!!! That seriously makes me laugh that Colby is so excited to get paid for doing things for you. It makes me want to try it with Nick! You guys are too cute!

  2. That is my favorite post ever! Jared and I are like that I am the bread winner also, for now.

  3. Ha ha Trace and I are the same way! I have been the breadwinner since we got married. I tease him all the time too about how we get to spend "my money." But I try not to take it too far, because I know he is sensitive about it a little. But while he is going to doctorate school, there is just no way he can work full-time during the school year. We both sacrifice NOW so he can support us LATER. You guys got a good thing going on :-)
